I think summer really is on the way

Now that's a "nearly summer" sunset isn't it! Tonight from Leonie & Les's deck looking out over the Manukau harbour.

This morning I cursed certain short judicial people as the alarm went off and I realised it was time to get up and go to work. On a Saturday! For goodness sake what kind of madness is that?

Still it was over and done with by 12.30 (she says through gritted teeth). Then to scrapbooking, on to Gina's for Jean's birthday celebrations, then a long walk next door to Leonie & Les to watch the sunset and finish off the wine. For a Saturday it could have been worse don't ya think!

Last night we went to End of the Rainbow at the Skycity Theatre. I have to admit that in the first five minutes of the play I did seriously wonder if I'd talked everyone into booking for an absolute lemon. Then there is that strange little moment where all of a sudden disbelief turns into adoration and let it be said publicly ... I adore Ellie Smith. What a voice and what a performance. If needing any testament to her talent I can swear that I heard a certain 80 year old gentleman sitting next to me whisper as she sang her first song, "Oh yes, that's it". He was then captivated for the rest of the show.'Tomorrow is "Ladies Who Take Tea" at Neru's so I must go find the best hat & gloves. Perhaps some lippy? Who knows.

Sounds as though the play was a success after all! Glad you enjoyed it. Sounds like a nice Saturday too, even though you had to work part of it. Enjoy your tea!

I think your day sounds superb if you consider that it really began at 12:30! The sunset is lovely (I'm jealous that you have access to a view of water), and the evening entertainment sounds divine. Wish I was there!
